For one night only, unslave yourself from the shackles of your computer and come out to witness the melodious melodrama that is the GBTC’s First Ever Battle of the Bands. Watch as seven bands—made up of the land’s greatest tech talent—vie for one night of fame, and absolutely no fortune.
For Bands
Are you prepared to fulfill your destiny as a rock god among mere mortals? Then apply now to partake in GBTC’s First Ever Battle of the Bands. You’ll get 20 minutes to prove your mettle (or metal). Bring only your instruments—all sound equipment, including amps, microphones, and sound system, will be provided.
Note: All band members must purchase a ticket to the event, and each band is required to sell an additional 20 tickets. With your entourage, that shouldn’t be a problem.
The Competition
We’ve tapped the tech community’s most all-knowing and all-powerful judges to crown and condemn our bands in a number of categories—including the most coveted title of all: BEST BAND.
The Scene
Only a place as legendary as The 8x10 could handle a battle this epic. The cash bar will be flowing and refreshments of the lighter variety will be at hand. You can also satisfy your appetite for destruction at one of Federal Hill’s restaurants before the show.
The Tickets
Tickets are $20 and must be ordered in advance online or at The 8x10 box office. Each band will be bringing groupies, so space is limited and a sell out is all but certain—so purchase your tickets as soon as possible. Once we sell out, there will be no tickets available at the door.
